A Royal Netherlands Air Force order for four has launched the Fokker 60 Utility, a stretched version of the existing Fokker 50 Utility. Both versions feature a heavy duty floor. while the Fokker 50 Utility also has a large rear multi purpose door. The Fokker 60 Utility differs in having a 1.62m (64in) stretch, 2060kW (2750shp) Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127B turboprops and a forward 3. 05 x 1. 78m cargo door. Fokker is offering the Utilities to the world's armed forces, government agencies and commercial operators (for use for example as oil company transports) capable of carrying mixed loads of freight, personnel and equipment. Fokker is also studying the possible introduction of a passenger version of the Fokker 60. (Fokker)

Marines Exercise With Raaf:
A number of US Marine Corp aircraft are currently based in Darwin for the three month Exercise Southern Frontier.
F/A-18s, AV-8BS, EA-6Bs and KC-130 tankers and 500 personnel from Marine Air Group 12 will be based at RAAF Base Darwin to participate in two separate six week deployments to exercise with the Air Force, involving F/A-18s from Nos 3 and 75 Squadrons operating from Tindal.
