T0104 is powered by two 500 shp Pratt & Whitney PTBA-11 turboprops providing a typical cruise speed in excess of 200 kts. T1040 benefits over the established Chieftain in having a far greater uplift capability, faster cruise speeds, enhanced climb rate and engine-out performance and while the avgas/avtur situation in Australia is not comparable to most overseas markets the turbine is more reliable in the long term
