Ipec Jets Into the Eighties

The rather quiet atmosphere pervading the spec hangar on a cloudy summer morning rather belies the sense of urgency that has prevailed during the previous evening. The morning Is the time for reflection and analysis of what has transpired during the night’s work and preparation for the next evening between Mr Philip Petersen, Managing Director, and Stan Wareham, Aviation Manager.

With two Argosies – VH-IPA and VH-IPB – now on a four-night-a-week freight operation between Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, and the DC-9 making four trips to Launceston each night, there is little to be complacent about, and the task at hand is now urgent and developing.

With a load factor of better than 80%, the DC-9 is doing what Petersen said it would when he recommended it to his Board.
