Airports

The airport is installing body scanners and 3D x-ray bag scanners across all of its screening lanes, which will eliminate the need for passengers to remove items such as laptops, tablets and aerosols from their bags.

Three EA-18G Growler aircraft will attend Exercise Tarang Shakti 24, which is being held at Air Force Station Jodhpur from 30 August to 13 September 2024.

Airlines

The twice-weekly Jetstar 787-8 service will end on 30 April, to be supplanted in May by Qantas A330s, which will operate three times per week. Qantas says it will operate 40,000 seats on Melbourne-Honolulu per year, replacing 335 Jetstar seats per flight.

The IVL – paid when visitors request an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) or apply for a visa – is set to increase from NZ$35 (around AU$32) to NZ$100 (around AU$92) from 1 October. Visitors on Australian and NZ passports are exempt from the fee.

An ATSB investigation into the incident concluded that the employee had worked multiple night shifts in a row with "reduced extended rest periods", which likely reduced their ability to "obtain restorative sleep".

The airport has released 27 hectares of developable land, its largest single release since 2002, and is looking to increase direct air freight access to Adelaide and encourage more cargo to travel through the city rather than larger gateways like Sydney or Melbourne.
