Qantas Empire Airways advisement for the Inland Service operated by the DH.86. This image appeared on a metal postcard reproduced from an original postcard or poster. The aircraft shown seems to be a hybrid depiction with VH-USE showing R.M.A. Brisbane, when in fact that registration was named R.M.A. Sydney. The lack of colour photographs of aircraft of this era leaves it to commercial artists who prepared advertising material, rendering impressions of the aircraft. From this we can see that most likely the stripe on the fuselage was red against a silver background. (Eric Allen)
