Airbus deliveries reached an all-time year-to-date record at the end of October with 462 aircraft delivered to 76 customers. Boeing has increased 787 production to five a month, starting with airframe 83. Earlier this year Boeing had increased production from 2.5 to 3.5 aircraft per month and plans to have 10 787s a month rolling off its three production lines by late 2013. Airbus has forecast the need for 1,060 new aircraft in Brazil through to 2031. According to its latest Global Market Forecast the manufacturer predicts a requirement for 700 single-aisle, 310 twin-aisle and 50 very large aircraft. Airbus has based its views on Brazil’s forward GDP forecasts, which it suggests will grow above the world average.
European aerospace manufacturer EADS has posted a 14 per cent increase in revenues during the first nine months of 2012 to post an EBIT of €1.6 billion from revenues of €12.3 billion. Airbus Military and Indonesia’s PT Dirgantara have signed an agreement to jointly upgrade the C212-400 light transport aircraft. The agreement includes the joint development, manufacturing, commercialisation and support of the aircraft, which will be renamed the NC212.
