Bombardier’s Global aircraft family celebrated a significant milestone with the entry into service of the 500th Global business jet. The aircraft, a Global 6000 model, was delivered during a ceremony in Montréal. The aircraft blends high-speed range capability and comfort. The aircraft can link Paris with Tokyo nonstop with eight passengers and three to four crew.
Lufthansa and leasing company ILFC have between them ordered 150 Airbus A320s. The announcements were made at the Paris airshow, which runs this week. ILFC has signed a firm contract for 50 A320neo aircraft. ILFC was the first lessor to commit to the A320neo family with a firm order placed in 2011 for 100 aircraft.
Bombardier projects a need for 24,000 business jets and 12,800 commercial aircraft in the 20-149-seat category over the next 20 years. The figures are part of the manufacturer’s recently released official 20-year market forecasts. The company expects business and commercial aircraft markets to continue to recover from industry downturn, with signs of forward momentum beginning
