Jabiru-powered aircraft will operate without restriction for at least another week after the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) extended the consultation period for proposed operational limitations on the manufacturer’s engines. CASA says it is continuing to learn more about the why there have been an increasing number of incidents from aircraft fitted with Jabiru engines.

Barwon Heads Airport outside Geelong will be able to operate year-round after securing funding to have its runway sealed. Victoria’s regional aviation fund will allocate about $650,000 to seal the airport’s 750-metre gravel north/south runway. Lighting along the runway will also be improved.
