Last month was the first time since January 2020 that Melbourne saw more than one million international passengers, with the airport also setting a new all-time monthly record for international flights at 4,976, breaking January 2020’s record of 4,834.
Ken Kanofski, who ran NSW RMS from 2016 to 2019, will join the board of Sydney’s second airport alongside two other non-executive directors: seasoned director and adviser Donna-Maree Vinci, and Tim Eddy, who first joined the WSA board in 2017.
Parafield, which was Adelaide’s first airport and is now the main general aviation aerodrome for the city, expects to expand its airfield infrastructure, as well as continue industrial and commercial development, in the first eight years of the plan to 2031.

Sydney has forecast 2.6 million passengers through its terminals over the three weeks from 14 December to 3 January, while Melbourne is expecting more than 4.2 million between 20 December and 29 January, and Brisbane is tipping 3.7 million between 1 December and 28 January.
The funding drive will include collection boxes and QR codes that will be displayed throughout both domestic and international terminals.
