The airport advised Qantas domestic passengers on Monday morning that they may be impacted by the technical fault, which has not affected international passengers or those travelling on other domestic airlines.
Mark Young, who was Adelaide Airport’s CFO from 2001–2011 and managing director from 2011–2021, has also held positions at the SA Tourism Commission, the Australian Airports Association and the Airports Council International, and will take up a role as a non-executive director at Newcastle.
Speaking to Australian Aviation for an upcoming podcast, Jordan praised Melbourne’s two airports and the under-construction Western Sydney International Airport, saying the low-cost carrier would be inclined to serve both WSI and Sydney Kingsford Smith if given the opportunity.
January marked one year since the resumption of flights between mainland China and Melbourne, and saw more than 3,136,944 people pass through the airport, up 16 per cent on January last year. More than six million people have transited Melbourne Airport over the December–January peak.

Bradfield City Centre, backed by more than $1 billion from the state government, is expected to include up to 10,000 new homes, with the government saying it will deliver 20,000 direct jobs. It is hoped the city will be established in line with the opening of WSI in 2026.
