The chairman of Mildura has become Australia’s first airport boss to call for the JobKeeper scheme to be extended after it emerged the initiative is $60 billion under budget.
Scott Morrison said interstate movement restrictions harm the economy, jobs and were never agreed by the National Cabinet at the start of the month.
However, the event has said the uncertainty around international travel means it will focus on aircraft available within the country.
City leader Carrie Lam said, “The epidemic has eased. We are resuming daily activities in society and economy step by step.”
The former cosmetic surgeon hopes to use the platform to transport guests and world leaders from the airport to his accommodation, which is also situated adjacent to the International Convention Centre.
The test was one of two flight checks conducted in advance of the first passenger jet landing on Saturday, 12 July.
