Appearing in the Federal Court to outline next steps, voluntary administrators from EY Australia said it would be “inutile” and costly for former chairman Lim Kim Hai to move forward with an extraordinary general meeting while directors do not have any power.
In an email to Rex Flyer members seen by Australian Aviation, administrator Sam Freeman said tier benefits will continue to be honoured, and customers will still be able to earn points – including tier bonus points – during the period of the voluntary administration.
The carrier, which restarted pilot training flights last month with the support of the Vanuatu government and civil aviation authority, will share further details on the flights – including a schedule and booking process – shortly, according to a statement from liquidator EY Australia.
Cebu Pacific will increase its flights to Manila from three to four times weekly in December, using its fleet of A330-900neos.
The former Transport Minister also praised the regional carrier and said it was brave to launch capital city jet services against Qantas and Virgin.
The site will serve both Australia and New Zealand and aims to eventually boost the accuracy of GPS signals to as little as 10 centimetres.
