A number of proxy firms have advised Sydney Airport shareholders to vote in favour of a $23.6 billion takeover bid ahead of the 3 February vote, despite a number of retail shareholders opposing the sale.

The drop largely coincides with rising COVID-19 cases, and both Qantas and Virgin revealling they have been forced to cancel flights and consolidate their flight schedules, to account for isolating staff and passengers alike.

The C-130J Hercules took off from RAAF Base Richmond on Tuesday, 18 January, and will be used to conduct an “assessment of damage to critical infrastructure”.

Speaking exclusively with Australian Aviation, Arcadia Capital partner Sam Walker said “practically speaking” there will be “no changes at all” to Ansett Aviation Training (AAT) after the deal is finalised, including to its management team.
