Boeing has awarded a subcontract to Lufthansa Technik to support the sustainment of the Royal New Zealand Air Force’s (RNZAF) future fleet of four P-8A aircraft.
The P-8 Poseidon is a maritime patrol aircraft used for various roles, including reconnaissance and search and rescue. The Boeing-built aircraft is a military variant initially based on Boeing’s workhorse narrow-body 737 Next Generation.
RAAF crew trained alongside counterparts from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) last month, engaging in both air and ground-based activities, designed to bolster bilateral defence ties.
The RAAF has commenced “Operation Christmas Drop”, joining partner nations to deliver 200-kilogram bundles of goodwill to support over 20,000 people in remote communities across the West Pacific.
