“This is a vote of confidence in Narrabri’s economic future. Good air services are vital to attracting more jobs and investment for this region; it will immediately deliver benefits for our company,” Eastern Star Gas managing director David Casey said, whose company has plans for a liquefied natural gas plant at Newcastle. “Our Brisbane-based staff, who regularly visit our operations at Narrabri, currently fly via Sydney so a direct link is very welcome.”
Narrabri Mayor Robyn Faber said Aeropelican’s weekend service to Newcastle would bring a number of social and economic benefits to the region, but would also “provide direct access to John Hunter Hospital, a major community hospital for northern New South Wales.”
Aeropelican already operates twice daily Narrabri to Sydney flights.
