Industry body Aviation/Aerospace Australia has appointed Dr Kimberly Camrass as chair of its GreenSkies initiative, a move seen as strengthening the sustainability agenda across Australia’s aviation, aerospace and space industries.
GreenSkies is the organisation’s flagship sustainability platform, focused on practical environmental action across high-technology flight and space activities.

Camrass is currently Head of Sustainability for Asia Pacific and India at Boeing, where she leads regional aviation decarbonisation efforts, including sustainable aviation fuel advocacy, policy development and cross-sector partnerships.
Her elevation to the GreenSkies role signals a deeper push to align Australia’s aerospace ecosystem with global sustainability trends.
As chair, Camrass will work with industry, government and education stakeholders to drive collaborative action on sustainability, supporting lower-emissions aviation while also encouraging innovation relevant to launch services, advanced manufacturing and emerging space technologies.
“Australia has a unique opportunity to lead in sustainable aviation and aerospace innovation,” said Camrass.
“Through GreenSkies, we can bring together industry, policymakers and emerging talent to make real progress on decarbonisation, sustainable fuels and next-generation technologies that will shape the future of flight and space.”
Aviation/Aerospace Australia chair Kristen Raby said Camrass’ experience would strengthen GreenSkies as a national platform at a time when sustainability is becoming a core competitiveness issue for the aerospace sector.
“Her leadership will help align Australia’s aviation, aerospace and space industries with global climate goals, while supporting innovation, workforce development and long-term resilience,” she said.
GreenSkies brings together industry leaders, researchers, educators and early-career professionals to accelerate solutions across sustainable aviation fuel, emissions reduction and environmentally responsible technologies.
While aviation remains a central focus, the initiative is increasingly relevant to space launch, satellite manufacturing and supporting infrastructure as Australia positions itself as a growing space nation.
Camrass’ appointment comes amid rising global momentum towards net-zero aviation and expanding investment in clean technologies, trends that are expected to increasingly shape Australia’s aerospace sector and its role in international supply chains.
