TransNusa is set to increase its frequency between Perth and Bali later this year.

From July, the Indonesian carrier will increase A320 services on the Perth–Denpasar route from 17 to 21 per week. It comes just under a year after the initial launch of TransNusa in Australia in March 2025, on a route that has already seen an expansion to more than two daily services.

“This increased frequency shows the airline’s commitment to the Western Australian market, and we look forward to working with the team at TransNusa as they grow their operations in Perth,” said Perth Airport’s chief commercial and aviation officer, Kate Holsgrove.

“More international services provide more options for Western Australians who love to travel, and with a flight time of just over three and a half hours, it is easy to see why we visit this fantastic holiday spot, and West Australians return to Bali on a regular basis.

“Currently we have 42,000 Indonesian visitors come to Western Australia each year injecting $119 million into the economy.

“With more direct flights, there is an opportunity to welcome more visitors from Indonesia, one of our closest neighbours, to visit family and friends; explore tourism in WA; develop business and trade; or undertake a world-class education here in Perth.”

The news comes after another record year for Perth Airport, which saw 18.026 million travellers in the 2025 calendar year, up from 16.9 million in 2024 and more than 15 million in 2023.

This included all-time highs for international (5.4 million), regional (6.4 million), and interstate (6.2 million) passengers.

“The resources sector remains a key driver of regional passenger numbers, but tourism and business travel are now having a bigger influence, reflected in the stronger interstate and international traveller numbers,” said Perth Airport chief executive, Jason Waters.

“Qantas has launched direct flights to Johannesburg and Auckland, ANA now operates daily flights to Tokyo, and China Southern Airlines has recently announced a year-round, non-stop service between Perth and Guangzhou, which means we are expecting international passenger numbers to soar to even greater heights in 2026.”

Perth–Denpasar is currently also served by Batik Air, Batik Air Malaysia, Indonesia AirAsia, and Jetstar.
