Emirates is expanding its premium economy service in Brisbane with the addition of retrofitted 777-300ER aircraft.

Starting 29 March, the daily EK430/31 service will be operated by the four-class 777-300ERs, complementing the A380 service introduced last year. All five Emirates destinations in Australia – Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide – have premium economy service.

“Customers can look forward to Emirates’ award-winning Premium Economy experience, complete with extra legroom and added amenities, elevated dining, and more,” the airline said.

“The airline will deploy its Premium Economy retrofitted A380, Boeing 777 and A350 aircraft with the latest cabin interiors on more than 84 routes by 1 July, underscoring its focus on delivering a premium and consistent experience across its network.”

Ryan Both, executive general manager of aviation at Brisbane Airport, said the move is “great news for travellers, as it means no matter which aircraft they book, they’ll enjoy the same high-quality Emirates experience when flying to and from Brisbane”.

“The retrofitted four-class Boeing 777-300ER brings upgraded cabins across all classes, including Premium Economy, and operates in addition to the airline’s daily retrofitted A380 service,” he said.

“It’s another reason this route continues to be popular year-round with both leisure and business travellers.”

The Brisbane expansion follows Adelaide last year becoming the first city in Emirates’ global network to see its longer-range A350-900ULR, which features an updated premium economy cabin.

“This is a landmark moment for Emirates, highlighting Adelaide and South Australia’s vital role in our global operations,” said Barry Brown, divisional vice president for Australasia at Emirates at the time.

“Adelaide proudly becomes the first Australian city to welcome the Emirates A350. With this, our new and highly acclaimed Premium Economy cabin debuts in Adelaide, completing the cabin’s rollout across all five of Emirates’ Australian gateways.

“While Emirates has been accepting the delivery of A350s for the past year, this is the first delivery of our long-range variant with the range and capability to fly from Dubai to Adelaide.

“Adelaide has been earmarked to receive this new aircraft for some time, underscoring our commitment to the South Australian capital.”

Emirates took delivery of its first A350-900 in 2024, and the new long-range variant can stay in the air up to 15 hours nonstop.
