Now in its seventh year, the Australian Defence Industry Awards identifies the top businesses and professionals across Australia’s defence industry, with aerospace companies such as Airbus, BAE Systems, Thales and Babcock Australasia all appearing in the list of nominees.

After much deliberation, Australian Aviation is pleased to announce that 230 finalists have been selected from over 300 submissions for the highly anticipated awards program.

There are 27 categories on offer, including 10 individual and 17 group categories, with the highest-scoring individual winner being given the Excellence Award during the award ceremony.

Innovators, academics, consultants, engineers, and rising stars have been selected as finalists in the individual categories, while finalists in the group categories include cyber businesses, naval programs, space businesses and veteran support programs.

The winners will be announced in a black tie/military mess dress gala ceremony on Thursday, 10 July 2025, at the National Convention Centre, Canberra. Click here to buy tickets.

The Australian Defence Industry Awards program recognises people and businesses rather than products and platforms.

The awards program is designed to universally acknowledge all defence industry stakeholders, from primes, SMEs and academic institutions to high-performing individuals such as defence executives, Indigenous and female leaders, students, scientists, academics and technicians.

The industry’s most anticipated awards program of the year has become the benchmark for excellence across the sector and is a desirable accolade for individuals and businesses seeking to forge their role in the defence industry.

The Australian Defence Industry Awards, in conjunction with event stakeholders Defence Connect, Momentum Media and a panel of leading defence professionals, has developed a robust awards methodology to form the backbone for assessing, analysing and benchmarking Australia’s leading defence professionals and businesses.

Finalists were assessed using a judging criteria that is quantitative and qualitative, acknowledging growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence and contribution to Australia’s defence sector.

The awards were open to all businesses operating in Australia supporting the defence supply chain.

The Australian Defence Industry Awards will culminate in a black tie/military mess dress gala ceremony on Thursday, 10 July 2025 at the National Convention Centre, Canberra. Click here to buy tickets.
