The UAE based airline will be adding a third daily service from Melbourne to Dubai, stopping at Singapore on March 26, before adding a daily direct flight from Sydney to Dubai on May 1.

Jetstar’s woeful recent performance continued in December, with the airline now being the worst for departure and arrival delays and cancellations.

The positive result for those flying in December appears to have come as a result of airlines continuing to keep capacity, or seats for sale, low and prices high.

Despite travel capacities being reduced, the route is now the fifth busiest in the world, up from sixth last October thanks to a surge over the summer holiday period.

Flight QF102 requested a priority landing back at Nadi airport not long after taking off from Fiji on a trip destined for Sydney, with fumes from the aircraft galley oven cited as the issue.
