Aviation Australia is dedicated to delivering excellence in training delivery, to help shape the global aerospace and aviation industry. Our mission is to create aviation expertise and leadership to help support the industry’s growth and development
Aviation Australia has four campus locations across Australia in Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne and Perth. As part of our international strategy, we operate in a joint venture in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, delivering training for the Gulf aerospace industry.
Our International Aircraft Maintenance offering provides a European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) accredited Diploma course, which sets students up for a career as a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME). Students can choose between the Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering – Mechanical (TB1-10599NAT) or Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering – Avionics (TB2-10600NAT), or complete both for a double diploma.
What makes us different?
– Largest aircraft maintenance engineering and independent flight attendant training provider in the southern hemisphere.
– Only training provider in Australia to provide qualifications recognised by EASA, the – Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and the Gulf Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) regulators.
– Our instructors are the best in their fields, with many years of experience in commercial and military aviation operations.
– There is nowhere else in Australia with the diversity of aviation training experiences for students.
– Australia’s only category and sub-category EASA Part 147 Maintenance Training Organisation.
As a global leader in training and support for the aerospace and aviation industry, we specialise in training for aircraft maintenance engineers, pilots, cabin crew and remote pilots (Drones).
“I actually feel like a qualified pilot now,” said a student that I recently congratulated for receiving his PPL

Aviation Australia offers aircraft maintenance engineering pre-vocational courses providing the essential training required to begin a career in aircraft maintenance. Whether you are looking to become an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) or a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME), Aviation Australia has the perfect course offering for you. Students can choose between a mechanical, structures or avionics specialisation as they prepare for a career in aircraft maintenance.
Our facilities and close industry partnerships provide Aviation Australia students with live aircraft practical experiences in a real-world hangar environment.
Another focus area and highly successful program is Aviation Australia’s school to work pathways, which allows students to start their aviation career path while finishing high school. The Certificate II in Aircraft Line Maintenance is designed to help students make an informed decision about their study and work options. This vocational education training in school program is designed for year 10 and 11 students and runs over approximately two years. Students learn basic level knowledge and skills to perform a range of maintenance tasks on aircraft, which can lead to employment or further training as an aeroskills apprenticeship.
Aviation Australia works closely with the industry to upskill both licensed and non-licensed aircraft maintenance engineers. Aviation Australia can offer CASR Part 66 examinations, practical competency training and assessment along with recognition of prior learning to qualified aircraft maintenance engineers and aviation maintenance workers.
In addition to CASA regulatory approvals, Aviation Australia can offer the EAS Part 66 category training and assessment.
Aviation Australia holds a letter of recognition from the Australian Defence Force’s Aviation Safety Authority (DASA), confirming its approval to recognise Aviation Australia’s maintenance training and assessments against its Part 66 aircraft maintenance engineering licensing requirements.
Cabin crew
Our cabin crew training runs alongside major domestic and international airlines who use our advanced aircraft cabin trainers and equipment. Our cabin crew courses are designed to enhance the understanding of the cabin crew role as well as the aviation industry in general. In such a competitive industry, we believe gaining the knowledge and skills will improve the student’s chances of securing employment as a flight attendant with a major domestic or international airline. As the largest independent flight attendant training provider in the southern hemisphere, we also offer services such as:
- Dry hire;
- Aviation firefighting;
- Cabin crew training;
- Airline consulting for development and approval of training;
- Leadership and management; and
- Study tours.
Our students leave Aviation Australia with detailed theoretical and practical understanding of what is required to be employed as cabin crew with emphasis on safety and leadership. They are also equipped with a deep understanding of how to prepare for employment interviews and the tools to assist in the process of gaining employment.
Cabin crew career training is available in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Remote pilot (drone)
Remote pilots specialising in drones are quickly becoming popularised in industries such as marketing, military, security, agriculture, sports, cinematography, photography and more. With such versatile uses, it is clear to see why career opportunities in drone piloting are on the rise.
Aviation Australia offers a Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot) AVI30419, which provides important training to legally operate a remotely piloted aircraft. It also allows users to fly without many of the weight or operating restrictions applied to recreational users.
Aviation Australia is approved by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training as a Skills Assure Supplier to deliver the Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot) AVI30419 through the VET in Schools (VETiS) program.
We offer the opportunity for Queensland high school teachers to be trained up to deliver the Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot) AVI30419 on behalf of Aviation Australia to their year 10, 11 or 12 students.
Our instructors are not just expert unmanned aircraft operators but also include experienced pilots that have a passion for remotely piloted aircraft. Their experience gives them a detailed understanding of airspace regulations and how to operate aircraft safely, providing invaluable insights into the role of a remote pilot.
Pilot training
Whether you’re just starting out in the industry or you’re already working as a commercial pilot, we have specialised training options to suit a range of needs. We offer a full range of services from ab-initio to advanced training courses.
For career starters, our Pilot Aptitude Assessment can help you decide if becoming a pilot is the right career path for you. If you wish to fly commercially, the next step is to gain your Commercial Pilot Licence. Pilots then often seek to improve their skills and better their employment prospects by also completing our Instrument Rating course.
Aviation Australia provides students with access to an award-winning flight simulator for jet-orientation and multi-crew co-operation training. Our simulator and training courses are certified by CASA, and students are guided by experienced instructors with a unique training method to maximise results and ensure all students are fully equipped.
We also offer recurrent training, including instrument approach recency, with session content tailored to individual need.
