Behind the launch of the Dassault Falcon 6X
The Falcon 6X, unveiled in December 2020, is set for its first flight imminently with deliveries beginning in 2022. One of the biggest bizjet launches in years, its cabin is the tallest and widest in business aviation, yet has a 5,500 nautical mile range; long enough to fly non-stop from London to Hong Kong or LA to Moscow.
Carlos Brana began his career at Dassault in 1984 as a design engineer on the Rafale, Mirage F1 and Mirage 2000 combat aircraft programs, before rising to become director of military sales in the Middle East. Today, he serves as the global business jet giant’s executive VP of civil aircraft. Here, he talks navigating the ambitious project through COVID’s toughest months, what makes the aircraft unique, and why he’s confident business jets will see a renaissance as vaccines begin their worldwide rollout.
Carlos, talk us through your experiences of 2020
