A statement to the WOFA from the manufacturer of the 737 MAX
We continue to offer our deepest sympathies to the families and friends who lost loved ones in the accidents of Lion Air 610 and Ethiopian Airlines 302. We are truly sorry. The memory of these tragedies will continue to drive us to do everything we can to make our airplanes safer.
The plan for returning the 737 MAX to the sky remains the same: Boeing continues to work closely with the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), other global regulators and our customers on the airplane’s safe return to service. We have brought the very best of Boeing to this effort, dedicating all resources necessary to ensure that the improvements to the 737 MAX are comprehensive and thoroughly tested. That includes spending over 100,000 engineering and test hours on their development.
