Reevers B25 Mitchell For Sale

Seeking new owner – a North American B25J Mitchell. HISTORIC AND CLASSIC AIRCRAFT SALES

The North American B25J Mitchell of Reevers Warbirds Australia has been put up for sale. The aircraft, located at Parafield Airport, South Australia is substantially complete but is being sold as a rebuild project with the view to making it airworthy, either in Australia or overseas. The aircraft is being sold through UK brokers, Historic and Classic Aircraft Sales Ltd with an asking price of US$459,000. The Mitchell is an ex Battle of Britain film camera ship. It was built in 1944 with c/n 108-37583 and USAF serial number 44-31508. After the war it was sold off and became N6578D. A number of owners and countries later it came to Australia as the flagship for Reeves. Reeves has also recently sold off its North American Yale trainer. The aircraft has been packed for transport to the new owners who are yet to be revealed. The aircraft is effectively a fixed undercarriage North American T-6 Harvard aircraft. It will be an interesting addition to the Australian warbird fleet when put back in the air.

‘Flight Path’ Magazine to Close

It has been announced that Flight Path magazine will close with the November issue. Rob Fox, who has been the editor for 21 years, advised that a combination of increased production costs and falling advertising revenue has forced the decision to cease publication. In his closing announcement Rob paid tribute to his band of writers including Michael Claringbould, James Kightly, Ronald Watts and Andy Wright. With the closure of Flight Path that leaves Rag & Tube, the magazine of the Antique Aeroplane Association and the New Zealand-based Classic Wings magazine as the remaining mass media publications (other than Australian Aviation) catering to any reader interest in classic and antique aircraft and warbirds.
