Misconceptions behind misunderstanding
Do pilots feel misunderstood? A great question. One that required further investigation to ensure that it was not just my take on 20 years of one-on-on conversations with pilots. Not that they complain — oh no. Apart from a little cynicism that creeps into the layers of any long-term career, I can say that pilots predominantly love what they do.
After conducting a small on-topic database survey, I can state that 18 out of the 20 pilots I chatted with agreed with the ‘misunderstood’ statement.
