The Wings Over Illawarra Airshow will hold a special screening of the documentary Spitfire to raise money for charity.

The event will be held on Sunday November 11 at the Gala Twin Cinemas in Warrawong at 1600, with all profits to be donated to Legacy.

Australian Aviation owner Christian “Boo” Boucousis will introduce the movie, while regional carrier Fly Corporate is giving away a return flight for two from Illawarra Regional Airport to either Melbourne or Brisbane as a lucky door prize.

Wings Over Illawarra director Mark Bright said the airshow was proud to be presenting what he described as an “epic” documentary prior to the show’s general release in Australia on November 15.

“The movie celebrates not only the aircraft that is credited with changing the course of history, but the men and women that built, flew and maintained this magnificent aircraft, many of which paid the ultimate sacrifice,” Bright said.

Only 300 tickets are available for the event. Tickets cost $26, which includes food and drinks. They can be purchased at the Wings Over Illawarra website.

The next Wings Over Illawarra airshow will be held over the weekend of May 4-5 2019.

Australian Aviation is a sponsor of Wings Over Illawarra.
