Virgin Australia points to positive year ahead

Underlying profit comes as airline group revamps its management and completes its equity raising

Virgin Australia chief executive John Borghetti says the airline group is on a firm footing for future years as it prepares for a major fleet restructuring amid an improving financial outlook.

Having completed a significant overhaul of its Boeing 777-300ERs (see feature story elsewhere this issue), attention has switched to the removal of the Embraer E190s, reduction in ATR turboprops and Tigerair’s transition from the Airbus A320 to Boeing 737-800.
