Multi-domain integration
The imperative of leveraging cyber and space
During the RAAF’s major biennial conference “Multi-domain Integration” held earlier this year, Defence Minister Senator Marise Payne stated that in order to maximise the Air Force’s present and future capabilities, systems must be networked and integrated to a degree not previously achieved. Air, land and maritime forces must leverage the high level of connectivity made possible by the use of systems uniting them through the space and cyber domains.
Work to achieve a fully-networked joint future force across the air, space, electromagnetic and cyber domains has already begun under the auspices of the RAAF’s Plan Jericho (AA, February 2015).
