The sun is still some time away from showing its face, but amidst the occasional spotlights and the hum of generators the lakefront parkland is a hive of activity.

The city of Canberra has been transformed into the focus of a ballooning spectacular and enthusiasts and the general public alike are out in force. And while the sight of more than thirty hot air balloons overhead will be inspiring, there is a good deal that must take place before the skies can be transformed by these craft aloft upon the breeze.
