Revenue sharing Qantas-AA alliance takes off

Sydney services give American Airlines “skin in the game”, says Qantas chief

American Airlines and Qantas say their deepening alliance on the trans-Pacific market will inevitably lead to new routes and new services as both airlines take advantage of their different fleets to fly different missions.

While the pair has been codeshare partners for 25 years, the two carriers recently applied for a revenue-sharing joint-venture partnership on trans-Pacific routes, bringing them closer than at any point in the two decades-long history of working together.
