A decision nears for AIR 5428

It appears a down-select of the preferred tender for the ADF’s AIR 5428 pilot training system (PTS) is likely to occur in the next month or so, although industry sources say it will then likely go into a period of negotiation and may not be announced publicly until February or March next year, perhaps at the Avalon Airshow.

The sources tell us that the project team has “gone dark” in recent weeks, suggesting the team has gathered and assessed all of the information it needs to make an informed decision, and perhaps even that its recommendation has been made and is already being considered by key ADF figures.
