Polair 2 takes off in Brisbane
The Queensland Police Service (QPS) has added a second helicopter to its ranks with the commissioning into service of Polair 2 on July 5 to provide aerial support for its operations over the state’s south-east, extending from Caboolture in the north and Coolangatta in the south to the Lockyer Valley in the west.
Officially launched days earlier by Queensland Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services Jack Dempsey, BO105 CBS-5 VH-NVK is owned and operated by Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) oncontract to QPS until July 2016.
