Everyone in industry has a responsibility to push for reform
The first whiff of fresh air blowing through the aviation regulatory landscape will hopefully soon turn into a strong breeze that helps clean out the faulty logic and tainted culture that has been the focus of reform-pushing organisations such as AAAA for years.
Minister Warren Truss is to be congratulated on the first appointment to a refreshed CASA board, Jeff Boyd, formerly chair of the Regional Aviation Association. Apart from the quality of the individual and his wealth of experience in aviation, the key issue is that under the Forsyth (ASRR) report recommendations, the CASA board is to exercise full governance control.
