The ASRR promises much, now for the implementation
Regional aviation continues to struggle in a hostile environment but there are recent signs that some things are changing for the better.
Hit hard by the GFC which saw passenger numbers decline and not yet recovered, regional aviation subsequently has been seriously affected by the carbon tax, the withdrawal of the en route scheme, new security charges, an increased fuel levy to fund the expansion of CASA and, above all, an increasing regulatory burden with its associated costs.
