Bell’s new short light single
A brand new version of Bell Helicopter’s classic 206 JetRanger, one of the world’s most popular single-turbine helicopters with over 4,800 examples built, is now at prototype stage with the final design expected to re-enter Bell into the fray of the short light single (SLS) market from early 2016.
The Bell 505 Jet Ranger X (JRX) was officially unveiled in February at Heli-Expo in Anaheim, California. It has since made its Australian debut, in mockup form, at the Rotortech 2014 conferenceand exposition on the Sunshine Coast in late May, where it was the centrepiece of local Bell distributor Hawker Pacific’s display. The futuristic looking JRX was displayed in a corporate configuration to delegates and visitors of the two-day convention.
