Seizing the moment
2014 shapes as a crucial year for aviation in Australia
There is change in the air. No doubt about it. The Aviation Safety Regulatory Review is close to completing its vital work. The CASA CEO job has been advertised finally and the CASA board will soon be injected with desperately-needed new blood. Industry is also keen to discover who will sit on Deputy Prime Minister Truss’s aviation advisory council. These are all vital strategic decisions whose importance to industry cannot be underestimated.
From a government and industry cooperation perspective this is obviously a red letter year. After the disappointing Aviation White Paper under the previous government it is probably now or never as to whether the Australian industry will build the path to return it to the first rank.
