Singapore Pioneers Aglcms
A leading edge system development at Changi Airport will provide a step change in aircraft ground routing. The potential integration with other systems presents the opportunity to improve the efficiency and safety of airport operations.
In April 2013 Singapore Changi Airport completed system acceptance testing of an Advanced Guidance Lighting Control and Management System (AGLCMS). The system provides automated taxiway light guidance to route an aircraft between the runway and its allocated gate. This new intelligent technology also provides separation for aircraft on the ground, with minimal air traffic controller intervention.
