The rebel (airline) alliances strike back
The last several years have seen a trend away from the importance of airline alliances and a rise of bilateral agreements. Yet recently, several initiatives are bringing oneworld, SkyTeam and Star Alliance back to the fore.
Alliance member airlines are moving to new facilities at London Heathrow’s Terminal 2 and Sao Paulo Guarulhos Terminal 3, joining their alliance partners in what the alliances – and the airlines – see as part of a wider colocation strategy driving efficiencies and passenger experience benefits.
