NZ T-6 decision highlights trans-Tasman differences in decision-making timeliness
New Zealand has announced the selection of Beechcraft’s T-6C to fill its requirement for an advanced pilot training capability. The NZ$154 million contract will also see CAE provide the synthetic training package and support for two simulators while Air New Zealand subsidiary Safe Air will provide maintenance and engineering support as subcontractors.
Announcing the decision, New Zealand’s Minister for Defence Dr Jonathan Coleman said the “modern, safe and reliable” pilot training system would bring the NZDF in line with training systems in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.
