Election represents a watershed opportunity

The upcoming federal election is likely to be a watershed whatever the result. Compared to other industries, aviation is so weighed down by over-regulation, red-tape and bloated bureaucracy it is something of a miracle that it survives at all. There are no government cash hand-outs, no union campaigns calling for more largesse, just thousands of dedicated business owners and their staff trying to keep the aircraft flying so that they can deliver the services the customers want and need.

There is a very good PhD on offer for someone who can research the net effect of government costs on the aviation industry.
