Boeing rediscovers it mojo with 787-10, 777X
After years of agonising and embarrassing delays, not to mention the grounding earlier this year, Boeing’s 787 program is finally seeing blue skies and the payback for the pain is on the horizon in the form of huge fuel savings for new models.
The launch of the 787-10 and the pending launch of the 777X are two such models that promise fuel savings of 20 per cent over the aircraft they will replace.
Quite simply, the recently-launched 787-10 – and 777-9 and 777-8 to be launched almost certainly before year’s end – will be the world’s most fuel-efficient aircraft by a wide margin in an era where fuel economy will almost certainly be king.
