Profit slump sees Rex comes out swinging

Ron says: Tell him to stop whinging.

If more regional carriers fail to survive, it’s more business for Rex.

You made twelve million bucks.

Shut up & go & enjoy it.

Rex’s position on government
policy has supporters and
detractors. paul sadler

Raymond says: Lim, just wait about another six months and this toxic and incompetent government will be gone.

Trash Hauler says: I believe Lim is spot on and good on him for representing all the regionals.

This isn’t just about Rex, it’s about every regional airline.

Having grown up in a country town that is very reliant on air travel I appreciate what the regionals have done to develop this country thus far.

Bombardier unveils CSeries single-aisle challenger

Peter Gisborne says: If Bombardier’s Mike Arcamone is correct with his performance claims for the 160-seat C300, then this aircraft is a serious threat to both the Airbus neo & the B737 MAX.

Both Qantas Group & Virgin Australia should have a good look sooner rather than later! U

SAF to test RAAF top fighter pilots

Chris N says: This deployment to Oz is yet another sign of how important the US-Oz / USAF-RAAF relationship is and just how world-class the RAAF FCIs are – regardless of what aircraft they fly today or will do so in the future.

Hopefully looking forward to a good feature article and some nice pics AA!

Now allowed on US flights: knives, bats, golf clubs…(but only two)

Ben says: The TSA has really lost it this time.

Qantas mulls 747 freighter buy

Dee says: As always, QF are behind the times having let Middle East airlines take Australian cargo to the land of sand.

The 747-400s sitting in the New Mexico desert could have been converted to freighters, but I guess thinking forward is still too hard for the management.

F-35 gets improved marks, could still face deep cuts

Raymond says: Please, no, don’t kick the F-35 in the guts now! Why can’t this program just get a decent amount of momentum? It would be nice to see it gain traction once and for all, and put an end to all the controversy and uncertainty.

Terry says: Software maintenance will be one of the main long-term costs for the F-35 as LM will not give Australia the source code so for the entire life of this aircraft Australia will have to pay LM enormous software costs both for any new weapon systems plus for each routine software update.

Tiger celebrates 10 millionth passenger

Bombardier CSeries raises the
competitive stakes..
bombardier

Enjay says: It’s been a rocky beginning, but 10 million passengers is an achievement that other start-ups could have only dreamed of.

Unfortunatley, Tiger is still seen as the flying ‘Greyhound’, cheap fares, average service & unreliable if you really need to be at your destination on time.

Ron says: “Our goal now is to become the airline of choice for both value and service…” sounds a lot like Virgin Australia’s mantra.

Having grown up in a country town that is very reliant on air travel, I appreciate what the regionals have done…
