The Qantas Group will take the plunge into Australia’s teeming online accommodation market with a new website called Hooroo.
The service will officially launch on July 18, although the website is already live and taking email registrations. Those providing their emails can “expect the odd email filled with travel inspiration and a dash of deals,” the site says.

“Hooroo is a new kind of travel website,” the site adds. “Untold stories, inside tips and thousands of places to stay in Australia at awesome rates… and that’s just for starters. We’re here to inspire travel and to help you find the perfect place to stay on your next trip.”
For all the expats out there, ‘hooroo’ — derived from ‘hooray’ — is an Australian vernacular term meaning, oddly, ‘goodbye’.
