The Ambulance Service of NSW
In another life, many years ago, I was a young paramedic on a rural roadside one dark, wet night.
Along with a rescue crew, we were maintaining the delicate balance of caring for a critically ill patient as he was extricated from his torn and tangled motor vehicle. Amid the chaos, the unmistakable thumping of rotor blades began to draw closer in the darkness. It was a reassuring sound for me — I can only imagine how the patient felt.
