In the interest of full disclosure, I’ll begin by mentioning that I have considerable experience at the controls of fighter planes, mostly as an adolescent in the late 80s and early 90s.

Whether squaring off against the Red Baron, sending hordes of Messerschmitt Bf 109s spiralling to a watery grave in the steely English Channel or almost single-handedly halting the advance of polygonal Soviet T-72s across the plains of Europe, I have done my fair share to defend freedom and support the sales of combat flight simulators.
