Brisbane-based Strategic Airlines has announced it will put on additional relief flights between Brisbane and Perth on October 30, and Brisbane and Melbourne on October 31 to try to assist passengers stranded by the Qantas mainline grounding.
An A320 departed Perth at 1.15pm local time this afternoon and is expected in Brisbane at 7.45pm local this evening, and a return flight will depart Brisbane at 8.45pm local and is expected to arrive in Perth at 01.15am local. Strategic will also operate a Melbourne to Brisbane service on Monday morning departing at 10.30am local which is due to arrive at 11.45am, with a return service due to depart Brisbane at 1.00pm and arrive in Melbourne at 4.00pm local.
