Engineering firm Quickstep Holdings Limited has been awarded Manufacturer of the Year at this year’s 2011 Manufacturers’ Monthly Endeavour Awards, highlighting the company’s recent success in entering the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) global supply chain.
Quickstep, which also took out the Global Integration Award, was recognised by the Endeavour panel for their efforts in successfully establishing a Long Term Agreement (LTA) with prime contractor Lockheed Martin in the US$300b F-35 program during February this year. That follows on from an MOU signed between both parties in November 2009, and will see Quickstep manufacture a large number of composite doors and panels for the JSF.

“We are delighted to have been recognised for our work on the Joint Strike Fighter program,” Quickstep managing director, Philippe Odouard said in a statement. “The signing of a Long Term Agreement to manufacturing parts for the F-35 a fifth generation stealth fighter was a landmark event for Quickstep and prepares the company for further defence and aerospace contracts to be manufactured here in Australia. I would like to pay tribute to each of the Company’s team members for their vital contributions.”
