Boeing’s Phantom Ray UCAV demonstrator was taken aloft on NASA’s Shuttle Carrier Aircraft modified Boeing 747-100 for a 50 minute test flight from St Louis’s Lambert Field on December 13.
The compatibility flight was undertaken as a prelude to the SCA’s planned carriage of the Phantom Ray to the Dryden Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base in California, from where the Phantom Ray will begin its flight test program.
