Charles Darwin wrote that “it is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change. ” He wasn’t thinking about the airline industry, although he may have been influenced by the vagaries of safe balloon flight in the mid 1850s.

However, the constantly changing face of the Australian aviation scene is testament of Darwin’s great quote and the next two years will probably go into history as a Harvard case history of the theory.
