Delivering on its promises

For those who haven’t studied helicopter aerodynamics in detail, it is truly a subject of mystery and intrigue. When it all got too hard for me during my early training, I remember being taught the two most basic laws:

Helicopters don’t fly; they are just so ugly, the earth repels them! If this was true, then questions might have to be asked about the flying qualities of the Bell 429, because the overwhelming impression at first glance is that this is a particularly good-looking machine.
